Below is the daily schedule of Zoom English classes that you need to attend on a daily basis.
Go to Blinkin Zoom Class at the stop time for your class.
There is also an extra help session each day from 2:45- 3:30.

General English – 8:30-9:00 am
3/2 – VOCABULARY
- Write each vocabulary word on pages 93-94, 113-114, 155-156, & 184-185 2x each on an index card or on paper with its definition. Make sure the spelling of the word is correct.
2. Use each vocabulary word in a sentence. Underline the subject twice and the predicate once in each.
The predicate must contain a verb!
3. Define the term “ Vocabulary in Context”. Give an example
3/3 – FIGURES OF SPEECH
- Define the words simile, metaphor, alliteration, personification and exaggeration.
- Write three complete sentences clearly demonstrating each figure of speech.
- Complete the assigned worksheet from the links.

3/4 – WRITING PARAGRAPHS
- Define the following terms: prewriting, introductory sentence, body of a paragraph, conclusion or summary.
- Write well structured paragraphs on the following topics:
A. Using at least 2 paragraphs, describe the events that happen in “ Black Boy”, and the lesson the mother is trying to teach her son.
B. Using at least 2 paragraphs, describe the events that happen in “ Red Badge of Courage”, and describe what the narrator learns about himself.
C. Using at least 2 paragraphs, discuss the topics and figures of speech MLK uses in “ I have a Dream”.
D. Write 2 fictional paragraphs using your imagination. Choose any topic you would like to write about.

3/2 – VOCABULARY
- Using index cards or paper write the definitions 2x each of all the words on pages 74, 80, 86 & 92 in your Connections Workbook.
- Use each of these vocabulary words in a complete in a sentence.
- Define the words biography and auto-biography.
3/3 – NOUNS & PRONOUNS
- Write the definition of the following parts of speech: noun, pronoun, possessive noun, and possessive pronoun.
- Give an example of each type of word using a complete sentence!
- Complete the attached worksheets on nouns and pronouns.
3/4 – WRITING
- Using 3 complete sentences summarize any autobiography or biography we have read in your Connections workbook.
- Write 3 complete sentences about MLK’s “ I Have a Dream” speech. Be sure to describe the topics he talked about.
- Write 3 complete sentences about your favorite subject in school.
