TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT

TODAY, WE BEGIN A NEW CHAPTER IN THE TEXTBOOK, CHAPTER 12, PAYING FOR GOVERNMENT.  WHY CIVICS MATTERS:  TAXES ARE ONE IMPORTANT WAY THE GOVERNMENT COLLECTS MONEY.  AS A CITIZEN, YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW GOVERNMENT COLLECTS AND SPENDS YOUR TAX MONEY.  THERE IS AN OLD SAYING THAT NOTHING IS SURE IN LIFE EXCEPT DEATH AND TAXES.  THINK ABOUT THAT.  THERE WILL BE AN ESSAY AT THE END OF THE STUDY OF THIS CHAPTER.

IN THE TEXTBOOK, READ PAGES 290 TO 293.  READ PAGE 292 VERY CAREFULLY.  THEN, READ YOU TRY IT!  ON PAGE 293, AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS #’S 1 THROUGH 5 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.  THIS WILL TAKE SOME THOUGHT.  DON’T JUST THROW ANYTHING DOWN ON PAPER.  THESE ARE ISSUES THAT YOU WILL DEAL WITH AS A CITIZEN FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

BE SURE THAT YOUR ANSWERS CAN BE READ AFTER YOU TAKE YOUR PICTURE TO SEND.  ALSO, FOR FULL CREDIT DON’T FORGET THAT HEADING.
