WE HAVE SPENT FIRST MARKING PERIOD STUDYING CHAPTER 1, HOW GEOGRAPHERS LOOK AT THE WORLD, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHER AND THE CARTOGRAPHER.  WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS AND OUR GRAPHING SKILLS.

WE NOW BEGIN CHAPTER 2, LOOKING AT THE EARTH, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE WILL LEARN ABOUT THE NATURE AND STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE FORCES THAT AFFECT THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH , THE SETTING FOR HUMAN LIFE.

 

YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY IS TO FIRST READ FROM PAGE 30 IN THE TEXTBOOK TO PAGE 32, WHICH IS THE END OF SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 2.  THEN, ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ON PAGE 29 UNDER FOCUS ON GEOGRAPHIC THEMES #’S 1 AND 2.  NEXT, ANSWER THE QUESTIONS #’S 1, 2, 3, AND 4 ON PAGE 30 UNDER FOCUS ON GEOGRAPHIC THEMESFINALLY, ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ON PAGE 32, SECTION 1 REVIEW #’S 1, 2, 3, 4, AND 5 INCLUDING THE DEFINITIONS.  USE THE HIGHLIGHTED DEFINITIONS WITHIN THE SECTION TO DEFINE THE WORDS NOT THE DEFINITIONS ON THE INTERNET.

WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON CHAPTER 1 IN THE TEXTBOOK, BEGINNINGS OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.  AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL STUDIES EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS.

OUR GROUPS, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HAVE BEGUN CHAPTER 2, CREATION OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE ARE LEARNING THAT AFTER THE AMERICANS DEFEATED THE BRITISH IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, THEY HAD ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE.  HOW WOULD THE COUNTRY BE GOVERNED?
