WORLD GEOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2020

 

WE SPENT FIRST MARKING PERIOD STUDYING CHAPTER 1, HOW GEOGRAPHERS LOOK AT THE WORLD, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHER AND THE CARTOGRAPHER.  WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS AND OUR GRAPHING SKILLS.

THEN, WE STUDIED CHAPTER 2, LOOKING AT THE EARTH, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE NATURE AND STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE FORCES THAT AFFECT THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH , THE SETTING FOR HUMAN LIFE.

WE JUST FINISHED OUR CHAPTER 2 TEST.   WE ARE NOW BEGINNING CHAPTER 3, CLIMATES OF THE EARTH.  WE WILL STUDY WHY CLIMATE IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN DESCRIBING THE GEOGRAPHY OF PLACES ON THE EARTH. 

YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY IS AS FOLLOWS:  FIRST, READ CHAPTER 3, CLIMATES OF THE EARTH, SECTION 1, PAGES 44 THROUGH 47.  NEXT, ON PAGE 46, ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, FOCUS ON GEOGRAPHIC THEMES, QUESTIONS #’S 1, 2, AND 3.  FINALLY, ON PAGE 47, ANSWER IN SECTION 1 REVIEW, QUESTION #1, WHICH IS SEVEN DEFINITIONS.  DEFINE THE WORDS FROM THE CHAPTER ITSELF OR FROM THE GLOSSARY IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK.  DO NOT USE GOOGLE OR DICTIONARY.COM.

GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENT FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2020

 

WE HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 1 IN THE TEXTBOOK, BEGINNINGS OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.  AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL STUDIES EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS.

OUR GROUPS, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 2, CREATION OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, IN OUR TEXTBOOK, AND WE HAVE COMPLETED THE CHAPTER 2 TEST.  IN THE CHAPTER, WE LEARNED THAT AFTER THE AMERICANS DEFEATED THE BRITISH IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, THEY HAD ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE.  HOW WOULD THE COUNTRY BE GOVERNED?  CHAPTER 2 DISCUSSED THE CREATION OF THE CONSTITUTION. 

ON FRIDAY, WE LOOKED BRIEFLY AT CHAPTER 3.  TODAY WE BEGIN A CAREFUL STUDY OF CHAPTER 3, A LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION. WE WILL LEARN ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE CONSTITUTION.

 

TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT IS AS FOLLOWS:

SENATE – BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE READ IN THE TEXTBOOK ALL OF CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1, PREAMBLE AND THE FIRST FOUR ARTICLES, PAGES 44 THROUGH 48.  THEN, COMPLETE IN YOUR UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT STUDENT WORKBOOK,  WORKBOOK ACTIVITY 12, PREAMBLE AND THE FIRST FOUR ARTICLES.   FINALLY, ON PAGE 48, IN THE TEXTBOOK, COMPLETE LESSON REVIEW 1 BY ANSWERING QUESTIONS #’S 1 – 5 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.

DON’T FORGET YOUR COMPLETE FLP HEADING.
