WORLD GEOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020

 

WE SPENT FIRST MARKING PERIOD STUDYING CHAPTER 1, HOW GEOGRAPHERS LOOK AT THE WORLD, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHER AND THE CARTOGRAPHER.  WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS AND OUR GRAPHING SKILLS.

THEN, WE STUDIED CHAPTER 2, LOOKING AT THE EARTH, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE NATURE AND STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE FORCES THAT AFFECT THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH , THE SETTING FOR HUMAN LIFE.

WE ARE NOW BEGINNING CHAPTER 3, CLIMATES OF THE EARTH.  WE WILL STUDY WHY CLIMATE IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN DESCRIBING THE GEOGRAPHY OF PLACES ON THE EARTH. 

WE ARE IN CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1, EARTH-SUN RELATIONSHIPS.  THEN, WE WILL BEGIN SECTION 2, FACTORS AFFECTING CLIMATE.

 

YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY IS AS FOLLOWSFIRST, REREAD CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1, EARTH-SUN RELATIONSHIPS, PAGES 45 THROUGH 47 IN THE TEXTBOOK.  THEN, ON PAGE 47, UNDER SECTION 1, REVIEW, ANSWER QUESTIONS #’S  2, 3, 4, AND 5 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.  NEXT, READ PAGES 48 THROUGH 51, SECTION 2, FACTORS AFFECTING CLIMATE AND DEFINE THE WORDS IN SECTION 2, REVIEW,  PAGE 51, QUESTION # 1.  AS USUAL, USE THE READING AND/OR THE GLOSSARY IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK, NOT GOOGLE OR DICTIONARY.COM TO DEFINE THE WORDS.

GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENT FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020

 

WE HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 1 IN THE TEXTBOOK, BEGINNINGS OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.  AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL STUDIES EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS.

OUR GROUPS, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 2, CREATION OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  IN THE CHAPTER, WE LEARNED THAT AFTER THE AMERICANS DEFEATED THE BRITISH IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, THEY HAD ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE.  HOW WOULD THE COUNTRY BE GOVERNED?  CHAPTER 2 DISCUSSED THE CREATION OF THE CONSTITUTION. 

YESTERDAY,  WE BEGAN A CAREFUL STUDY OF CHAPTER 3, A LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION.  WE ARE LEARNING ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE CONSTITUTION.

 

TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT IS AS FOLLOWS:

SENATE – BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE READ IN THE TEXTBOOK ALL OF CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1, PREAMBLE AND THE FIRST FOUR ARTICLES, PAGES 44 THROUGH 48.  THEN, READ SECTION 2, ARTICLES FIVE THROUGH SEVEN, PAGES 49 AND 50.  NEXT, ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, WHAT DO YOU THINK, QUESTIONS #’S 6, 7, AND 8 ON PAGE 48.  NEXT, IN THE WORKBOOK, ANSWER THE QUESTIONS #’S 1 THROUGH 10 IN ACTIVITY 13,  ARTICLES V, VI, AND VII FINALLY, ON PAGE 50, ANSWER IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, THE LESSON 2 REVIEW, #’S 1 – 5.
