WORLD GEOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT FOR SEPTEMBER 8, 2020

MAPS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF GEOGRAPHY.  TODAY, WE CONTINUE WITH OUR MAP SKILLS.  ONE OF THE GOALS OF THIS COURSE IS THAT THE STUDENT (THAT’S YOU!) IS PROFICIENT IN FINDING THE LONGITUDE AND LATITUDE OF PLACES ON A MAP.  TWO OTHER GOALS ARE THAT THE STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE A MAP SCALE AND A MAP KEY OR LEGEND.  WITH THOSE GOALS IN MIND, WE BEGIN TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT.

THE FIRST ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY IS TO GO TO THE SKILLS HANDBOOK, USING SOCIAL STUDIES, SKILLS WORKBOOK (YELLOW FLAG IN RIGHT HAND CORNER), ANSWER THE QUESTIONS #’ S 1-14  ON PAGE 4, USING THE MAP ON PAGE 3.  YOU MAY ANSWER DIRECTLY IN THE WORKBOOK WITHOUT COMPLETE SENTENCES BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT. HOWEVER, BE SURE YOU HAVE A COMPLETE HEADING.

NEXT, GO TO THE SKILLS HANDBOOK, USING SOCIAL STUDIES  (ASTERISK* IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER) AND READ SKILL 4, HOW TO READ A ROAD MAP, PAGES 18 TO 20.  THEN, IN YOUR BLUE SOCIAL STUDIES SPIRAL, ANSWER QUESTIONS #’S 1-9 ON PAGE 21.

GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENT FOR SEPTEMBER 8, 2020

TODAY, WE CONTINUE WITH THE FACT THAT ONE OF THE GOALS OF THIS COURSE IS THAT STUDENTS (THAT’S YOU!) WILL BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAD HAPPENED IN THE WORLD THAT INFLUENCED OUR FOUNDING FATHERS, WHEN THEY WERE FORMING OUR GOVERNMENT.  CHAPTER 1 OF OUR TEXTBOOK FOCUSES ON THAT.  YOU SHOULD HAVE ALREADY READ THROUGH PAGE 14 IN THE FIRST CHAPTER BECAUSE IT WAS ASSIGNED.  BECAUSE THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A LARGER CLASS THAN USUAL (SO MANY OF YOU NEEDED THIS GRADUATION REQUIREMENT), SOME OF YOU, WHO REGISTERED LATER THAN THE OTHERS, HAVE HANDOUTS/COPIES OF THE CHAPTERS OF THE TEXTBOOK.  DON’T WORRY YOU STILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET A GOOD GRADE.

FOR TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT, GO TO PAGE 8, IN THE TEXTBOOK /HANDOUTTHEN, IN YOUR BLUE SPIRAL SOCIAL STUDIES NOTEBOOK, ANSWER THE LESSON 3 REVIEW AND THE WHAT DO YOU THINK ( 7 QUESTIONS) IN COMPLETE SENTENCES WITH A COMPLETE HEADING. THEN, GO TO PAGE 14.  ANSWER THE LESSON 4 REVIEW (5 QUESTIONS) IN YOUR BLUE SOCIAL STUDIES SPIRAL, IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, WITH A COMPLETE HEADING.

THERE IS A TOTAL 12 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER.

STARTING TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH.  THIS LARGE CLASS IS IN 2 GROUPS.  YOU WILL ONLY DO THE ASSIGNMENTS FOR YOUR GROUP.
