WORLD GEOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT FOR WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY, NOV. 11TH & 12TH

 

WE SPENT FIRST MARKING PERIOD STUDYING CHAPTER 1, HOW GEOGRAPHERS LOOK AT THE WORLD, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHER AND THE CARTOGRAPHER.  WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS AND OUR GRAPHING SKILLS.

THEN, WE STUDIED CHAPTER 2, LOOKING AT THE EARTH, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE NATURE AND STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE FORCES THAT AFFECT THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH , THE SETTING FOR HUMAN LIFE.

WE STUDIED CHAPTER 3, CLIMATES OF THE EARTH.  WE LEARNED WHY CLIMATE IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN DESCRIBING THE GEOGRAPHY OF PLACES ON THE EARTH. 

WE HAVE FINISHED CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1,  EARTH-SUN RELATIONSHIPS  AND SECTION 2,  FACTORS AFFECTING CLIMATE.  WE HAVE NOW JUST FINISHED SECTION 3, WORLD CLIMATE PATTERNS.

IT IS TIME FOR THE END OF THE MARKING PERIOD 2 EXAM.  WE NOW START THE STUDY GUIDE FOR THE EXAM WHICH IS DUE THURSDAY THE 12TH.

 

YOUR STUDY GUIDE  IS AS FOLLOWS:

FIRST, CLICK ON THE MRS. BRADLEY WORLD GEOGRAPHY NOV. 12TH LINK BELOW AND COMPLETE THAT CHAPTER 3 TEST.  YOU MAY PRINT THE TEST AND ANSWER THE THE QUESTIONS, TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND IT;  YOU MAY TYPE THE ANSWERS IT IN A WORD DOCUMENT AND SEND IT IN AN EMAIL;  OR, YOU MAY WRITE THE ANSWERS ON LINED PAPER, TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND IT.  I REVIEWED ALL OF THIS IN CLASS.  ANSWER BOTH OF THE ESSAYS AT THE END OF THE TEST.

THEN,  ANSWER EACH OF THE FOLLOWING THREE (3) QUESTIONS IN A GOOD, WELL DEVELOPED PARAGRAPH OF AT LEAST FIVE (5) SENTENCES.

  1. EXPLAIN THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE, HYDROSPHERE, LITHOSPHERE, AND BIOSPHERE.
  2. EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE INTERNAL FORCES OF THE EARTH AND THE EXTERNAL FORCES OF THE EARTH.
  3. EXPLAIN HOW WATER IS BOTH A PHYSICAL FEATURE OF THE EARTH AND A RESOURCE.

GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENT FOR WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY, NOV. 11TH AND 12TH

 

WE HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 1 IN THE TEXTBOOK, BEGINNINGS OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.  AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL STUDIES EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS.

OUR GROUPS, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HAVE COMPLETED CHAPTER 2, CREATION OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  IN THAT CHAPTER, WE LEARNED THAT AFTER THE AMERICANS DEFEATED THE BRITISH IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, THEY HAD ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE.  HOW WOULD THE COUNTRY BE GOVERNED?  CHAPTER 2 DISCUSSED THE CREATION OF THE CONSTITUTION.

WE HAVE CAREFULLY STUDIED CHAPTER 3, A LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION.  IN THIS CHAPTER, WE LEARNED ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE CONSTITUTION.  WE ARE NOW AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER AND HAVE COMPLETED THE CHAPTER REVIEW.

IT IS NOW TIME FOR THE MARKING PERIOD 2 EXAM.  YOU ARE BEGINNING THE STUDY GUIDE TODAY.

 

THE FIRST PART OF THE STUDY GUIDE IS AS FOLLOWS:

THESE QUESTIONS ARE FOR BOTH THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES GROUPS

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS IN GOOD, WELL DEVELOPED PARAGRAPHS OF AT LEAST FIVE (5) SENTENCES:

  1. EXPLAIN THE FOUR (4) MAJOR COMPROMISES MADE AT THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION.

  3. HOW DID THE FEDERALISTS CONVINCE THE ANTI-FEDERALISTS TO VOTE FOR THE CONSTITUTION?
  4. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION?
  5. WHAT IS THE RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE?  WHAT HAS THE SUPREME COURT RULED ABOUT THAT RIGHT?
