WORLD GEOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2020

 

WE SPENT FIRST MARKING PERIOD STUDYING CHAPTER 1, HOW GEOGRAPHERS LOOK AT THE WORLD, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHER AND THE CARTOGRAPHER.  WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS AND OUR GRAPHING SKILLS.

THEN, WE STUDIED CHAPTER 2, LOOKING AT THE EARTH, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  WE LEARNED ABOUT THE NATURE AND STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE FORCES THAT AFFECT THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH , THE SETTING FOR HUMAN LIFE.

WE STUDIED CHAPTER 3, CLIMATES OF THE EARTH.  WE LEARNED WHY CLIMATE IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN DESCRIBING THE GEOGRAPHY OF PLACES ON THE EARTH. 

WE HAVE FINISHED CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1,  EARTH-SUN RELATIONSHIPS  AND SECTION 2,  FACTORS AFFECTING CLIMATE.  WE HAVE ALSO FINISHED SECTION 3, WORLD CLIMATE PATTERNS.

WE HAVE NOW BEGUN CHAPTER 4, ENVIRONMENTS, PEOPLES, AND CULTURES, IN OUR TEXTBOOKS.  THIS CHAPTER WILL HELP US UNDERSTAND THAT HUMANS AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT HAVE AN EFFECT ON EACH OTHER.

 

YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY IS AS FOLLOWS:

IN YOUR TEXTBOOK, FIRST, READ CHAPTER 4, SECTION 3, WORLD CULTURE REGIONS TODAY, PAGES 74 THROUGH 77.  NEXT, ON PAGE 77, ANSWER QUESTION #’1 UNDER THE SECTION 3 REVIEW, DEFINITIONS.

GOVERNMENT ASSIGNMENT FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2020

 

WE COMPLETED CHAPTER 1 IN THE TEXTBOOK, BEGINNINGS OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.  AS PART OF OUR SOCIAL STUDIES EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE ALSO ENHANCED OUR MAP SKILLS.

OUR GROUPS, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THEN COMPLETED CHAPTER 2, CREATION OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, IN OUR TEXTBOOK.  IN THAT CHAPTER, WE LEARNED THAT AFTER THE AMERICANS DEFEATED THE BRITISH IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, THEY HAD ANOTHER BIG CHALLENGE.  HOW WOULD THE COUNTRY BE GOVERNED?  CHAPTER 2 DISCUSSED THE CREATION OF THE CONSTITUTION.

WE NEXT CAREFULLY STUDIED CHAPTER 3, A LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION.  IN THIS CHAPTER, WE LEARNED ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE CONSTITUTION.  WE HAVE COMPLETED THE CHAPTER AND THE CHAPTER REVIEW.

WE HAVE NOW BEGUN CHAPTER 4, THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH.  WE ARE LOOKING  DEEPER INTO THIS MOST IMPORTANT BRANCH OF THE GOVERNMENT.

IN THE TEXTBOOK, FIRST, READ IN THE TEXTBOOK, CHAPTER 4, SUMMARY, PAGE 87.  THEN, ON PAGES 88 AND 89, CHAPTER 4, REVIEW, QUESTIONS #’S 8 THROUGH 12 AND 13 THROUGH 17.  ANSWER ALL IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.
