TASK #2 for TODAY: TED Talk – What Makes a Good Life by Robert Waldinger
In this TED Talk, Robert Waldinger (CLICK HERE) discusses the findings for a fascinating study that follows participants throughout their lives and makes a connection between personal relationships and our emotional and physical health.
After you listen to the story, in MS Word answer the following questions (be sure to include a proper HEADING in the header and Save As, Last Name_TED TALK2 and save in your folder):
- If you could only choose one: to have a successful career making a lot of money or to have a great life-long relationship with family and friends, which would you choose and why?
- What do you think are the qualities that make a good friend?
- How long is your longest friendship, who is it, and why do you think it has lasted so long?
- Do you think it can be healthy to argue with loved ones? Why or why not?
- Do you think it’s possible to be happy without having close friendships with other people?
- What were two major life goals that millennials named in the survey?
- How many years has Harvard been conducting this study of adult life?
- Why are long-term studies like this one difficult to do?
