  • You did a great job with your videos!! This week we will be revisiting Growth Mindset thru Khan Academy check to see which group you are in for the lesson.  (If it’s after 4pm, please text me after you join so I can refresh Khan Academy otherwise you will not see the lesson)
  • Self reflections should be in COMPLETE SENTENCES.
  • Once again, if you have questions or challenges I encourage you to (a) ask someone in your household for help (b) send me an email so I can walk you thru it or (c) pick up the phone and text or call during the hours above and get some help.

  1. This week we will be revisiting Growth Mindset thru Khan Academy. You were born to learn. There are many examples of how your brain changes, sometimes in ways you don’t expect, when you learn new things.The common denominator of all of these examples is that you have the power to grow your brain by challenging yourself and working hard to learn new things. What are some things you want to challenge yourself to learn?

2. Create a new account with Khan Academy at the link below:

Join Khan Academy Group A

Press “Create a new account”. Enter your date of birth, then sign up using your school email

Enter your grade and course. Now you’re ready to start learning!

B. Lesson – The Truth About Your Brain

  1. Name a skill that you know now and can do smoothly that you couldn’t do when you were born.
  2. How does your brain look different from when you were born, when you were learning that skill, and now?
  3. Share the most important thing you learned from Dr. Merzenich. Why is this learning important to you?
  4. What is something that you would like to learn?
  5. How would learning a new skill improve your life?

  3. Learning and our brains

Then complete your reflection.
