Project Goal:
Students will choose one healthy food and eat it every day for 2 weeks. (This one healthy food choice is added to the regular everyday diet.) Please still eat the same, just add the one food everyday.
They will track how they feel before and after eating it, collect data, and create a science board showing their results.
Student Directions
Choose one healthy food to eat daily for 14 days.
Examples: apples, bananas, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, salad, carrots, nuts, berries, avocado, sweet potato, or a healthy smoothie.
Students may eat the food in the afternoon at lunch in school and must bring it to school everyday.
Science Board OR Poster Must Include
Title:
Example: How Eating Oatmeal Every Day Affects My Energy
Question:
How will eating this healthy food every day for 2 weeks affect how I feel?
Hypothesis:
Example: I think eating a banana every day will give me more energy and help me feel better after school.
Materials:
List the food and anything used to track results.
Experiment/Procedure:
Explain what you did each day.
Data Chart:
Track each day:
- Date
- Food eaten
- Time eaten
- How I felt before
- How I felt after
- Energy level 1–5
- Mood level 1–5
- Notes
Pictures:
Include pictures of the food, the student eating it, or the daily log.
Summary/Conclusion:
